Our first vacation together was to Napa Valley while were dating back in 2013. Then we got married in Napa in 2014. And the rest is history I guess! This is a very special place to us that has many memories tied to it🍷🍇

Looking forward to see what the next 10 years has in store! Love doing life with you @alexgrivna 🥰😘

January Recap + February Goals

January Highlights

Overall, January was a very long and boring month. Even though it was extremely blah, it was exactly we needed after a busy 2019. Here are some of the “highlights” from the month:

  • We ate a LOT of healthy meals at home.
  • We went on a Friday night date night each week and spent three of those Fridays in Downtown Houston.
  • We hung new light fixtures in the kitchen.
  • We tried a delicious new recipe from Half Baked Harvest.
  • We spent several hours on the couch planning our trip to Japan.
  • I started my WSET Level 2 course.

January Goal Recap

If you read this post, you may remember what some of my goals were for the month (and the entire year). Here’s how I did on my January Goals:

  • No drinking Monday-Thursday (otherwise known as “Damp January”).
    • Kind Of Accomplished: I cheated one day, but otherwise, I stuck with it. This was HUGE for me.
  • Be active for at least 60 minutes each day.
    • Accomplished. Yes. I worked out every single day. Sometimes twice a day.
  • No alcohol purchases unless dining out.
    • Accomplished. We did not buy any wine, beer or liquor all month.
  • Try one new restaurant in Houston.
    • Accomplished: We actually tried 2 new restaurants! Kata Robata and Uchi.
  • Use MyFitnessPal to count/track all calories.
    • Kind of Accomplished: I did this about 80% of the time. I slipped up a couple time on the weekend (especially when we went out to dinner).

January Memories

February Goals

  • Drink Pliny the Younger
  • Continue my healthy goals/habits from January including:
    • No drinking 3-4 nights per week
    • Being active for 60 minutes each day
    • Tracking all calories in MyFitnessPal
  • Start and finish our taxes
  • Spend 5 minutes a day cleaning and/or tidying up
  • Plan/schedule travel for the rest of the year

February Travel

  • We are headed back to Santa Barbara tomorrow!
  • We are spending a weekend in Sonoma.
  • We are considering a weekend in the Texas Hill Country or Fredericksburg, but we haven’t planned anything yet.

How was your January? Do you feel like you started the year off on the right foot? I am happy that I got my life back in order this past month, but I’m really looking forward to a little more action in February. Cheers to a new month!
