As many people might know, I have traveled a lot for both business and personal in the last few years. With hundreds of flights comes several delays. Each delay has been different and just when I think I have heard it all, there is always something new!
I decided I would list the “wheel of excuses” I have encountered when it comes to flight delays. Take a look…
- Maintenance
- No Crew
- Late inbound aircraft
- Chicago (ORD) air traffic control hold
- MSP air traffic control hold
- First Class meals aren’t on board yet
- Diverted Plane
- Still loading passenger luggage
- Pilot needed a lunch/dinner break
- Paperwork not complete
- Frozen Engines
- De-Icing
- 50+ planes waiting to take-off in LGA
- Bathroom not functional
- Chicago O’Hare just being Chicago O’Hare
- Waiting for other passengers to land
- Chair Recline Not Working (but no one had that seat anyways)
- Weather
- Wrong Passenger on Plane
- Pilot and Flight Attendant were fighting
- New pilot software/app for phones that failed to roll-out properly
- Frozen Jet Bridge
